Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 1, 2026

At 6Pulse, privacy is not an afterthought — it is a design principle. We built 6Pulse specifically to protect your loved ones without cameras, and we hold ourselves to the same standard when it comes to your personal data. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. Introduction

6Pulse, Inc. ("6Pulse," "we," "our," or "us") operates the 6Pulse fall detection and monitoring service, which includes IoT sensor hardware (the "Device"), a mobile application (the "App"), and associated cloud infrastructure (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you purchase and use the Service.

By purchasing a 6Pulse Device or using the App, you agree to the data practices described in this policy. If you are setting up the Service on behalf of an elderly family member, it is your responsibility to inform them of these practices and, where required by law, obtain their consent.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: directly from you when you create an account or contact us, automatically from the Device and App during normal operation, and from third-party services you connect to the Service.

2.1 Account & Identity Information

  • Full name and email address of the account holder
  • Password (stored as a salted cryptographic hash — we never store plaintext passwords)
  • Billing information (processed and stored by our payment processor; we do not store raw card numbers)
  • Names and contact information of emergency contacts you designate

2.2 Sensor & Device Data

  • Motion and radar readings from the 6Pulse sensor (not images or video)
  • Derived presence and activity states (e.g., "Active in Kitchen," "Resting in Bedroom")
  • Fall detection events with timestamp, confidence score, and room location
  • Sensor health metrics: battery level, signal strength, firmware version
  • Home WiFi network name (SSID) for device provisioning — we do not store your WiFi password

2.3 Location & Home Information

  • The address you associate with the monitored home during device setup
  • Room labels you assign to each sensor (e.g., "Bedroom," "Bathroom")
  • Approximate device location derived from IP address for account security purposes
  • Optionally, precise device GPS location from your phone if you enable location-based features

2.4 Push Notification Tokens

When you install the 6Pulse App and grant notification permission, your device generates a unique push notification token (via Apple APNs or Google FCM). We store this token to deliver fall alerts and activity updates to your device. Tokens are rotated periodically and deleted when you uninstall the App or revoke notification permission.

2.5 Usage & Diagnostic Data

  • App version, device model, and operating system version
  • Crash reports and performance logs (anonymized before storage)
  • Feature usage analytics (e.g., which screens are visited) to improve the product
  • Alert acknowledgment times to measure service effectiveness

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to provide, improve, and support the Service. Specifically:

  • Deliver the core safety service: Process sensor data in real time, run fall detection algorithms, and dispatch push notifications, SMS, and email alerts to you and your emergency contacts.
  • Maintain and improve the Service: Diagnose technical issues, improve fall detection accuracy through aggregated and anonymized model training, and develop new features.
  • Account management and billing: Create and manage your account, process subscription payments, and send service-related communications such as receipts and renewal reminders.
  • Safety and fraud prevention: Detect and prevent unauthorized access to your account, identify device tampering, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Customer support: Respond to your inquiries and troubleshoot issues with your Device or App.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

All data transmitted between your Device, the App, and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. Sensor data and account information are stored on encrypted servers hosted in the United States (AWS us-east-1). Backups are encrypted at rest using AES-256.

Activity history — including detected events, presence logs, and fall alerts — is retained for 90 days by default. You may download or delete your activity history at any time from the App settings. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure.

We maintain a formal incident response plan. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, consistent with applicable law.

5. Third-Party Services

To operate the Service, we work with a limited number of third-party providers. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function:

All third-party providers are contractually required to process your data only as instructed by us, maintain appropriate security standards, and not use your data for their own purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format (e.g., JSON export of your activity history).
  • Opt-out of analytics: Disable non-essential usage analytics from the App Settings > Privacy menu.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@6pulse.io. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

The 6Pulse Service is designed for use by adults, both as account holders and as monitored individuals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at contact@6pulse.io and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (to the address on your account) and by displaying a prominent notice in the App at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The updated date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
